How do you think, would you be able to control the spaceship without any specific skills? And then just imagine you woke up on the board of this spaceship and couldn't find anyone from the crew. What would you do?
Tardy is a space adventure about a man, who tries to find out what happened while he was in cryo and how to go home. Players must figure out how to use complex mechanisms, open new sections of the ship and hidden ways of interacting with it. Learn how to be an astronaut, a pioneer and an inventor. And, of course, think a lot. Solve riddles, find out what happened to the missing crew and discover the horrible truth about the fate of this expedition.
The whole gameplay is tied to interaction with different mechanisms: terminals, switches, levers, buttons and so on. The player's task is to understand what a particular mechanism does and make it work as desired to achieve a certain goal. Player should study and understand every mechanism, find some secret panels and make it work as it should.
Interactivity of the world.The key feature of this gameplay, that all the buttons, switches and other controls can be pressed, turned and pulled almost manually (using the ‘mouse’). You can experiment, push buttons or drag and drop items by your own ‘hands’ and then watch, what happens.
Focus on the story. We tried to tell a story about the whole world and destinies of its inhabitants. About emotions and experiences of these people. The game takes place in a fictional universe where some planets suffer from attacks by a powerful and ‘evil’ Confederation. A ship called "The Wall" is sent to help one of these planets, but disaster happens to it along the way. The protagonist is a dolt and a rascal who made his way to the ship as a stowaway and foolishly closed himself in a cryo-capsule. So, when he wakes up, he sees an empty ship. And fates of it, the planet and himself are suddenly fall in his hands. Will the dolt save himself and the planet in the trouble? What happened to the crew? What hides the ship? Players will find answers to these and many other questions.
No pixel-hunting and other annoying things. In ‘Tardy’ we tried to get rid of many annoying things such as pixel-hunting, combination of objects and backtracking. Each problem in the game could be solved directly on the spot, when player interacting with some devices. But it doesn’t mean that our riddles will be simple.
One Wing Cicada is a small team from Minsk, Belarus. We love videogames and our dream is to make cool, spiritual games with interesting stories and unique gameplay-ideas. Tardy is our first experience in gamedev, but we hope it’ll help us to continue our path to the dream.
